January-September 2025, mostly remote to Hungary
Generated original ideas, planned, organized, and oversaw this 5hr event of roughly 100 attendees at this outstandingly professional venue.
20th anniversary celebratory mini-festival for a nomad kids camp (Kamanduk) that I have been co-organizing with a team for years. The concept of this event was mixed, with a showcase-type music selection of ex-campers that are making music, and camp-related celebratory activities.
My task was to keep everything in hand, and focus mainly on the schedule and the musical acts, working closely with the Production Manager of the House of Music Hungary. In the end it was great help that I could deejay myself to support the artists throughout the evening. I found it challenging to make the event feasible, as well as to find partners early enough in the process to not to have to overwork myself/ourselves later. Another condition was that the event was organized on a volunteer-basis (such as the camp), and with virtually no budget other than the technical costs towards the venue.
The biggest challenge that I had to face was reaching this very specific type of audience (current and ex-campers & their families), many of whom we have not had active contact with for 10-15 years, as well as keeping up with the professional standards of the venue, while not giving up the spontaneity what defines the camps ethos. In retrospect, I realize that the first challenge should have been tackled with building more on community outreach instead of trying to use (outdated) mass data; while the latter challenge, based on the feedback, was successfully taken on.
Since 2020, events held since 2022, HU/NL
As an mc and dj, I have organized and hosted events since 2022 for
myself and fellow acts on several occasions in different venues in
Hungary, mainly with the goal of attracting about 40-100 people.
Creating Facebook-event pages, regularly updating social media channels
with many times self-created flyers/posters, keeping in touch with
organizers, sound and light technicians as well as fellow performers,
these have all been in the usual group of my tasks. Resident Advisor I
have advanced user-level, and general organizer-side experience with,
having created one event page so far (which in the end did not advance
to take place). In the Netherlands I deejay-ed at Kaapse Brewery's 10th
Anniversary Festival in 2024 at the Keilepand in Rotterdam.
Ticketing, coordinating a small group of hostees, 2021-2023, HU
Regularly oversaw several types of ticket (sales) and entry methods at different venues in Budapest, took card and cash payments, communicated and organized with a small group of hostees, the venue managers and security staff the entrance of hundreds of people each night. Used English, Hungarian and a little bit of Dutch.
Event building, stagehand, coordinating a small team, 2023-2025, NL
From and empty room to a full-on event space, and the other way around. Combined English and Dutch at different venues (RAI Amsterdam, Open Doors Amsterdam (NDSM), DeFabrique Utrecht etc.) and for different clients. Worked in small teams and as crew chief with stages, LED walls, supporting light and AV teams, electricity, furniture, design & decor elements. As crew chief on occasions I was responsible for communication with the client (event organizers from the venue) and occasionally the client (the company/entity that held the event).
